Internet connectivity is vital to communicating in today's digital world. Without reliable internet access and the understanding of how to use today's digital tools, people face significant disadvantages in employment, learning, and social participation.

Internet connectivity can be a challenge for many rural communities, often due to a lack of resources or infrastructure to support digital access. Here in West Marin, access to the internet is extremely limited in many areas, exacerbating existing disparities and threatening community cohesion.

West Marin Fund’s Internet Connectivity for All efforts seeks to bridge the digital divide by advocating for access to high-speed internet for West Marin residents and providing digital literacy training and mentoring to help families support their children’s education.

Purpose

Expanding Digital Access

  • Engage stakeholders to identify, assess, and advocate for the expansion of viable broadband internet options that reflect the needs of West Marin residents.
  • Advance digital inclusion strategies that ensure that low-income families have greater digital access and the skills needed to ensure their full participation in the digital world.
